Second Public Meeting

The meeting was arranged following the initial meeting on 19 March 2003. It was agreed at that meeting that members of the community would consider what had been discussed and would attend a follow-up meeting to decide whether or not to commit to a Community Plan.

The meeting was addressed by Annette Gray of Suffolk ACRE. Annette described the main features of producing a plan, including the various ways to consult the community and how to produce the budget.

Annette then set the community members to work in groups to consider their issues on five topics;

Parish Council Effectiveness,

Community Services Communication,

Traffic, Transport, Highways,

Social Aspects,

Environment.

The meeting decided to proceed with producing a Community Action Plan.

The following people volunteered to serve on the Steering Group:

The Steering Group will also require a representative from the youth of the community and Annette recommended that there should be representatives from all community institutions.

Next Steps

1 Send form VVPP1 to Countryside Agency - Mike Dixon will do this via the Parish Council,
2 Acquire additional Steering Group members - Mike Dixon will look into this,
3 Set date of Steering Committee kick-off meeting - to be arranged.
